National Service Secretariat donates 10 vehicles to GES

The Minister for Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has received 10 Toyota Hilux pickups from the National Service Scheme (NSS) on behalf of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Mr. Mustapha Ussif, Executive Secretary of the NSS, who presented the pickups to the Minister, stated that the donation was a collaboration between the NSS and GES on the School Farms Project and the Farmer Feeds School Project.

Receiving the keys to the pickups, the Minister, lauded the Scheme on the good works being done in promoting national development and expressed the hope that GES, who were being given the cars, will put them to good use.
“It is our desire that this donation to GES will in turn, play a role that will lead to increased agricultural productivity in the country,” he added.

Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, Director-General of GES, expressed appreciation for the gesture and noted that the donation fed into the agricultural vision of President Nana Akufo-Addo, by encouraging schools to generate their own farm produce and even go ahead and supply to the local market.
Present were Mrs.Wilhelmina Asamoah, Director of Administration, Ministry of Education; Nana Ama Tima Boakye, Deputy National Coordinator, Free Senior High School Secretariat.

NDC Polls: Chair-aspirants to pay GHC10,000 – Asiedu Nketia

Shoot anyone who attacks you – DCE tells Police [Audio]

Asunafo South District Chief Executive, Osei Bonsu, has asked the police in the area to shoot down any civilian who attacks policemen. He was speaking at a durbar organised by the Omanhene of Kukuom, Osahene Nana Kwaku Attekyi II, to educate residents about the creation of the new Ahafo Region and its significance. The DCE asked residents to keep politics out of the creation of the new region, urging the police to gun down any recalcitrant characters who may attack them. He said the police were not given guns to shoot animals in the bush but to shoot lawless people. “I don’t see why in this 21st century, people will just have the guts to shoot the police.
