‘Shoot civilians who attack you’ – Asunafo South DCE to Police


The District Chief Executive for Asunafo South in the Brong Ahafo Region, Osei Bonsu Snr, has given Police in his district the green light to shoot any person who attacks them.

“Any civilian who attacks the police should be shot because we don’t have to take things for granted. Because the way these people are harassing the policemen in fact if they sit down and say they are from our area so we would not mind them they would take over the police.”
“So we have told them to shoot anyone who attacks the police. We have told them to adhere to our advice,” Mr. Bonsu noted.
Anwiam and its environs are noted for armed robbery and hooliganism in the region with the stretch between Kukuom and Bibiani recording many robberies over the years.
The Cooperative Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Union in Asunafo South as part of its contribution to the development of the area constructed the Police Post powered by solar at the cost of 100,000 cedis for the community.

The Goaso Divisional Police Commander ACP Ebenezer Larbi who received the keys to the police post on behalf of the police command called for an end to interference in their operations.
Nana Kumanin III urged other benevolent organizations to emulate their example.

60-year-old man stabs friend for preventing him from marrying his long time lover

Residents of Oboosi, a town near Twifo Praso in the Western region are still in shock following a brawl between two best friends which turned bloody. 60-year-old Opayin Donkor is said to have stabbed his friend Agya Kofi Fofie, 50 for preventing him from marrying his long time lover. According to report, the suspect had presented GH₵350 and a bottle of schnapps to the family of his love whose name was given as Eno Akosua as bride price. Bismarck Kofi Gyabah, a local report of Adehyie FM Bibiani said prior to the marriage ceremony, father of the bride demanded to see Opayin Donkor manhood before handing over his daughter. He refused and blamed his friend Kofi Fofie for his predicament.
